The Atelier is located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, which is the fastest growing area in New York City. Living in the city, it’s imperative to be walking distance to many different things. From top restaurants, to parks, to attractions, the area around the Atelier offers it’s residents the best of the best. If you live at the Atelier not only do you have access a building with unmatched amenities and service but you are also nearby to some of the best places in the city!

Hudson Yards

The Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project is the creation of a new neighborhood called Hudson Yards. This new project will consist of 16 skyscrapers that will contain millions of square feet of new office, residential and retail space. For residents of the Atelier this is great news as there will be a new retail center with two levels of cafes, restaurants, markets, bars and cultural space. There will also be new open public spaces and a new school opening up. With the rise of this new neighborhood, it just goes to show you how up and coming the area around the Atelier really is.

The High Line

Also known as High Line Park, the High Line is a 1.45 mile long park in Manhattan built on an elevated section of a New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line that isn’t in use anymore. Running from Gansevoort Street to the northern edge of the West Side Yard on 34th street, just a few blocks from the Atelier, the High Line is a beautiful aerial greenway urban park. The High Line is relatively new, as it opened in three phases, one in 2009 another in 2011 and the final in 2014. Another phase is still yet to open but is planned to be completed in 2017. This new park has influenced real estate development in the neighborhoods that lie along it, including Hell’s Kitchen, and annually received 5 million visitors. The park is wheelchair accessible, filled with beautiful plants and landscape, and has food stands along the way. A great place for a stroll on a warm summer day, the High Line is another great attraction nearby to the Atelier.

Hell’s Kitchen Park

While the Atelier does have a basketball court, an indoor children’s playroom and an outdoor playground, having a park just a few blocks away is a great perk for those with children and those who just want a great place to hang out outside of the building. Located on 10th Avenue between West 47th and 48th Streets, the Hell’s Kitchen Park is equipped with playgrounds, basketball courts and handball courts. There are many benches for those who just want to relax. Large trees provide great share during the summer months. The park is also the perfect place to come for a picnic when the weather allows. Having a park less than a 10 minute walk from the Atelier is incredible!

Pier 81

Just half a block from the Atelier, Pier 81 is a great waterfront spot to feel like you’re getting away from the bustling city and relax. Home to the North River Lobster Company, on a warm day you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the waterfront with a delicious lobster roll and cocktail on a 45 minute cruise around the city. This boat restaurant is an extremely unique place to head to that offers great food, a fun atmosphere and breathtaking views of the city.
